The History of Bent Tree Farms Barzona
1989 to present

In 1989 we purchased a set of Barzona/Hereford cross females from Bob Crane in Florida. Since then we have purchased several females from other breeders such as the Feltons of Missouri and the Andrews of Texas. Barzonas are a 25 percent base component in our South Poll composite.

We continue to work at breeding Barzona females that are hardy and have good udders and bulls that are calving ease specialists with some natural thickness and an agressive libido. Barzonas are a composite developed by the Bard family in Arizona in the 40's and 50's consisting of Hereford/Angus, Afrikaner, and Santa Gertrudis. These genetics blended together to produce a very hardy animal that excel in the remote high desert country of Arizona.

Whether you are a commercial or purebred breeder come by and see for yourself why we believe we have cattle that will work for both.

We have semen available on several Barzona herd sires.
