The History of Bent Tree Farms Southern Red
Angus
1988 to present
Red Angus have long been praised for their
maternal and carcass qualities. Red Angus is a 25 percent base component in our South
Poll composite. Our first Red Angus we purchased from long time performance
breeder Roy Beebe of Oklahoma. Since then we have concentrated on finding Red
Angus genetics that work well in our southern heat and humidity.
Our thanks to Red Angus breeders with names like Whitley, Infinger, and Angel
for providing us with the genetics to build upon. We continue to put selection
pressure on our Red Angus herd for slick hair, fertility, longevity,
productivity and carcass quality.
Our Red Angus are run under commercial conditions. We let Mother Nature do a
lot of the culling process for cattle that are too big (framescore) or not
enough heart girth (guts).
Whether you are a commercial or purebred breeder come by and see for yourself
why we believe we have cattle that will work for both.
We have semen available on several Red Angus herd
sires.
